I am already a convert to Wikipedia (want a synopsis of 'The Merchant of Venice' ?...go to Wikipedia!!). Having said that, i am always aware that there could be mistakes in the content.
One benefit of Wikis is that they are easy to use and no need to worry if you cant use HTML. I could see great use for it in the library environment...As i said, i already use Wikipedia. Who want to know Sit Arthur Conan Doyle's books and the order he wrote them?? I don't but one of my library patrons did. Wikipedia was great. Why not use the catalogue you ask? Well, less said about that the better. Imagine if we could put that sort of info on our library Wiki. Gradually add authors, theier books, personal info about them, their other pseudonyms, major characters...the list goes on.
The library Wikis content could have its content added to by the library users and eventually just be moderated by the lib techs/librarians.
